President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi discussed the situation on the state border with the Republic of Belarus with the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Serhii Deineko, which developed due to the arrival of a large number of Hasidic pilgrims, president.gov.ua reports. The situation on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border is completely under control. The State Border Guard Service has enough forces and means for reliable protection of the state border.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, pilgrims began arriving from Belarus at 3:30 p.m. on September, 14. Ukrainian border guards, in coordination with the National Guard and the National Police, set up 700-meter barrier on the border line from the Novi Yarilovichi border crossing point.

According to Serhii Deineko, foreigners were given explanations about the ban on entering Ukraine in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.

As of 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, there are 690 people on the Belarusian border.

"We forecast the arrival of up to a thousand people to the border line in Chernihiv region, up to 700 in Zhytomyr region, and up to 1,500 people in Volyn region. We expect three charters to arrive in Minsk - about 600 foreigners," Serhii Deyneko said.

Reserves of the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the Sumy Border Detachment were involved in strengthening the cover of the Belarusian sector. Mi-8 helicopter, two H-125s, DA-40 aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles for border monitoring are also involved.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine organized cooperation with the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus and maintains contact with the Embassy of Israel in Ukraine, as well as rabbis of Jewish religious organizations that provide water and kosher food to the Hasidim.

The situation on the border with the Republic of Belarus is under control.
