A Mercedes Vito minibus, fully loaded with counterfeit cigarettes, was stopped in the village of Nyzhnia Apsha in the Tiachiv district.

Law enforcement officers received operational information about possible illegal activities near the border with Romania. During the implementation of this information, the internal security officers in cooperation with the State Border Guard Service and the National Police Strategic Investigations Department in Transcarpathian Region officers stopped the vehicle. The driver, a 40-year-old Ukrainian, was transporting a total of 35 boxes of excise-free tobacco products.

Cigarettes were confiscated. The circumstances of the offense are being clarified.
