On September 22nd, at the "Uzhgorod" checkpoint, border guards of the Chop Border Guard detachment prevented another attempt of smuggling of tobacco products.
During the inspection of a truck “MAN” en route from Russia to the Czech Republic, the border guards found a large batch of cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps. The smuggled goods were found among the cargo of saw timber.
The tobacco products were hidden from border and customs control in pine boards.
The vehicle with Slovak registration was not passed through the border.
At present, the value of the seized cigarettes is being established.
