Border guards of the Chop border guard detachment stopped the illegal intentions of a group of criminals who tried to move a large batch of tobacco products from Ukraine to Slovakia.

During patrolling, the border patrol of the "Huta" section noticed the movement of an unknown person in the forest in the direction of the state border. Due to a service dog, the law enforcement officers managed to catch up and detain the man.

Additional border teams immediately went to the area where the unknown person was found to conduct further search operations. Later, not far from the place where the offender was detained, the response team stopped three more undocumented men with six large packages. They contained 9,000 packs of tobacco products without Ukrainian excise duty stamps.

At the same time, near the place of previous detentions, another border guard found two more men, also without documents.

All six offenders, as well as tobacco products, were taken to the border guard unit. After identifying the persons detained, they will be held administratively liable for attempting to illegally cross the state border. Currently, all the circumstances of the offense are being investigated.
