Tobacco smugglers tried to transport 62 boxes of cigarettes to Romania today at dawn.

Border guards of the Mukachevo border guard detachment got in the way of malefactors.

During the implementation of the information received from the operational and investigative department, the servicemen of the mobile unit of the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment found a group of men with packages on their shoulders on the outskirts of the village of Khyzha. Noticing the border guards and taking advantage of a considerable distance from them, the smugglers, despite warning shots, fled. 32,000 packs of cigarettes, which can cost up to 900,000 hryvnias, were left 200 meters before the border.

The cigarettes were delivered to the border unit, and will later be handed over to the SFS.
