Currently, investigative actions are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the violation and the circle of persons involved.

The officers of the operational unit of the Mohyliv-Podilskyi border guard detachment exposed the scheme of illegal purchase, storage and sale of foreign-made tobacco products.

As part of the criminal proceedings initiated on the bases of the materials of the operational border guard unit, a joint group of employees of the SSSU Department in Vinnytsia region, investigators of the Mohyliv-Podilskyi District Police Department and border guards, under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia District Prosecutor's Office, conducted an authorized search at the place of residence of one of the persons involved in the case.

As a result, law enforcement officers found a large number of tobacco products made in Moldova, Belarus and Russia that entered the territory of Ukraine illegally. In total, 71.5 thousand packs of cigarettes of various brands were seized during the searches.  The cost of the seized tobacco products is about UAH 3 million.
