Two individuals planning to swim across the Tisza River to enter Hungary were apprehended by the border patrol of the "Vylok" department of the Mukachevo detachment.

During the patrol, the servicemen noticed two men heading towards the Tisza. As soon as they were spotted, the border guards set out to detain them. Upon seeing the border guards, the violators attempted to flee, with one even managing to jump into the water. However, he didn't get far as a border patrol boat was already waiting for him. It turned out that the swimmer was a resident of Odessa. His companion, a resident of Ternopil, was also detained by the border guards on the riverbank.

It was revealed that both men had traveled to Zakarpattia intending to cross the border illegally. The intermediaries, to whom the Odessan paid $10,000 and the man from Ternopil $5,000 (with an additional $5,000 to be paid in Hungary), had promised them an unimpeded border crossing. However, the men were unaware that they would have to cross the border via the river, as their documents and belongings were not adequately protected against water damage.

Administrative offense reports were filed against the men, and their cases were referred to court. The identities of those organizing the illegal crossing are currently being established.
