Representatives of the delegation of the Kingdom of Denmark got acquainted with the work of the Zolote entry exit checkpoint in Luhansk region with the temporarily occupied territory.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen and Defense Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine Captain 1st Rank Felix Ebbestad arrived in the area of the Joint Forces operation today with a working visit.

The delegates discussed the defense and security situation at the checkpoint.

Accompanied by the JFO command and the head of the Luhansk border detachment, Colonel Yuriy Petriv, the diplomatic representatives visited the Zolote entry and exit checkpoint, where they got acquainted with the procedure for the functioning of the checkpoint and the conditions for passing citizens across the demarcation line.

“The border guards of the Luhansk detachment are ready to start passing citizens across the contact line in both directions at any time. Last year, we registered three people in the direction of TOT, and the Russian occupation forces, without providing any explanations, turned the citizens in the opposite direction. Today, we pass only local residents who cross this checkpoint every day,” said Yuri Petrovich.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen expressed support for Ukraine. Ole Egberg Mikkelsen also noted hope for the speedy return of the occupied territories of Ukraine.
