In 2020, two hangars were built for Airbus H125 helicopters in Kharkiv oblast, and one hangar per Sumy and Kyiv oblasts. Preparations for the construction of a hangar in Chernihiv Region are ongoing.

The fuel tankers are designed to transport aviation fuel and carry out aircraft refuelling. They were purchased in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine on Public Procurement under a negotiated procedure for defence needs. The total cost of the purchase was almost 8.6 million hryvnyas.

The MAZ trucks purchased have 4x4 wheel configuration and 330hp engines of Euro 5 environmental standard. Each is equipped with air conditioning and has a 500-litre fuel tank. The fuel tank capacity is 5000 litres.

The supplier’s representatives have given the personnel who will be operating the fuel dispensers, appropriate training on their operation.

As noted, the Ukrainian Border Guard Agency expects to receive ten more Airbus H125 helicopters this year. It is planned that these machines will arrive with the necessary opto-electronic equipment to monitor the state border and the exclusive (maritime) economic zone of Ukraine.

As a reminder, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine expects to receive a total of 24 new AirbusHelicopter H125 helicopters within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement with the French Republic and implementation of an investment project of the Ministry of Home Affairs to create a unified system of aviation security and protection.
