On the banks of the Zahidnyi Bug, border guards of Lutsk Border Guard Detachment found a consignment of smuggled cigarettes and means for their illegal transportation.

Tobacco products were found by the border patrol from Ambukiv border guard division. In total, law enforcement officers counted 7 packages wrapped in polyethylene. Each package contained 1,000 packs of cigarettes. Some of the revealed tobacco products were without excise tax stamps.

Along with cigarettes, the border guards found an inflatable boat, which was most likely to be smuggled to the Polish coast of the Zahidnyi Bug. Also nearby there was a portable wooden bridge that the smugglers had built to cross the control-trail zone. But the offenders themselves were not found near the piled cigarettes. Measures are being taken to identify those involved in the attempt of smuggling tobacco products. Cigarettes will be handed over to customs officers in accordance with the established procedure.
