The process of registration of those wishing to take part in the next stage of selection of candidates for the “New Face of the Border” project has once again shown the growing prestige of the border guard service.

Registration of those wishing to become “new faces of the border” lasted from 1 to 25 of October. The selection took place both among the staff of the State Border Guard Service and among civilians. Acting border guards registered to fill the positions at Kyiv Separate Checkpoint (with the area of responsibility of checkpoints at the capital's airports, railway station, river port…), Krakivets Border Guard Division and Rava-Ruska section in Lviv region. Civilian candidates were selected for 15 positions in Krakivets Border Guard Division of Lviv Border Guard Detachment. Upon completion of the registration, it became clear that more than 30 people were applying for each of these positions. 475 civilians submitted their applications through the online registration system.

The next stage of selection will be automated testing for general abilities, assessment of foreign language skills and professional psychological selection. Candidates who successfully pass these tests will be subject to a medical examination. Those who will be recognized as medically fit will defend their right to serve at Krakivets during a fitness test and a qualifying interview.

Persons who pass all stages of strict selection, after signing the contract will go to a three-month training.

It should be noted that during the previous stage of selection of candidates for 60 vacancies competed almost 860 people, i.e. almost 15 people for 1 position.

It should be mentioned that the project “New Face of the Border” is being implemented with the support of the US Embassy and the International Organization for Migration in Ukraine (IOM), whose experts are permanent observers of the competition.

Both servicemen of the State Border Guard Service and citizens of Ukraine of conscription age from civilian youth can take part in the project.
