Border guards of the Kharkiv BG Detachment together with customs officers stopped an attempt to smuggle a large amount of currency across the border.

Packages with Russian rubles were found today during the advanced inspection of a Daewoo-Lanos car at the Hoptivka BCP. The currency was hidden under the cover of the two front doors. According to the driver, a citizen of Ukraine, he transported about 7.5 million Russian rubles in total. In the vehicle, the inspection team also found license plates and vehicle registration certificate issued in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region by representatives of the occupation authorities.

The inspection of the vehicle at the BCP is currently underway; the circumstances of the offense are being clarified.
