The court in the Transcarpathian region has chosen a precautionary measure for the 42-year-old citizen of Turkey, suspected of aiding illegal immigrants.

A foreigner has been detained for attempting to smuggle five Syrian citizens across the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.

In November 2021, according to the Main Operational and Investigation Department of the Mukachevo Borderguard Detachment, a pre-trial investigation was launched.

The detained Turkish citizen was later suspected of committing the above-mentioned crime. Yesterday, the Berehiv District Court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for 60 days with the right to post bail of UAH 43,900.
