The enemy continues to shell the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts.

Yesterday, on the 17th of October, the russian invaders continued shelling the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts.

The enemy inflicted fire damage with the use of air missiles, MLRS and mortars. The communities of Velyka Pysarivka, Krasnopillia, Shalihine and Seredina-Buda of Sumy oblast came under enemy fire.

In the morning, the invaders from the russian settlement of kolotilovka shelled the territory of the Krasnopillia community with mortars, two explosions were heard.

Closer to noon, the rashists covered the territory of the Velyka Pysarivka community four times with 120-mm mortars and in one case with “Hrad” anti-aircraft missile system, in total there were more than one and a half dozen bursts from mines and more than twenty from rocket shells. In all cases, the fire came from the russian settlement of zarechye-2. Also, almost simultaneously, the invaders launched six rockets from a helicopter on the territory of the same community, enemy ammunition exploded on the outskirts of one of the settlements.

In the afternoon, the enemy shelled the territory of the Velyka Pisarivka community once again with “Hrad” rocket launchers, this time there were four dozen explosions. The fire started from the russian settlement of kozinka.

In addition, the enemy fired three times with mortars, barrel artillery and fired submachine gun bursts at the settlements of the Shalihine community from the area of the russian village of stara mykolaivka.

And the invaders fired barrel artillery, mortars, and large-caliber machine guns into the area of the Seredina-Buda community. The fire was directed from the russian settlement of zernove. As a result of one of the artillery shellings a woman was injured in the city of Seredina-Buda. Also, 6 private houses were damaged and three fires started.

The russians fired 120 mm mortars on the Horodnyia community in Chernihiv Oblast. 7 mines were flown from the village of Chоrnozemnе to Ukraine.

Members of the Defense Forces continue to protect Ukraine from the russian invaders.
