SITUATION ON THE WESTERN BORDER

BACK
13 of March 2022 12:51

During the day on March 12, more than 96,000 people and more than 15,000 vehicles crossed the state border of Ukraine in the western part. Figures indicate that compared to the previous day, passenger traffic has not increased significantly.

More than 77,000 people left Ukraine yesterday. Most of those who left - about 51,000 people - crossed the Ukrainian-Polish border. Currently, there is almost no accumulation of pedestrians, cars and passenger buses in this direction.

Over the past 24hrs, more than 19,000 people arrived in Ukraine including about 14,000 Ukrainians. Most of them are men who are going to defend the future of their country. We are grateful to our conscious compatriots! By the way, over the last 17 days almost 234,000 of our compatriots have returned to Ukraine!

WE REMIND you that all the checkpoints on the western border (except Dzvinkove checkpoint) are open 24 hours a day. Border guards and customs officers are making every effort to expedite the registration of people leaving Ukraine and provide humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian population and defenders of Ukraine. Over the past 24 hours, more than 1,000 humanitarian vehicles have been registered at the western borders.

To cross the border into the EU, WE RECOMMEND to choose checkpoints on the borders with Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and the Republic of Moldova as well. By the way, their workload is covered every two hours on the Facebook page of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service - Western Border. Check for updates.

WE ASK all citizens at the border to observe law, order and norms of morality when crossing the border and not to offer bribes to border guards for extraordinary or illegal border crossing!
