Border guards of the Mukachevo, Lutsk and Chernivtsi BG detachments prevented the transportation of three consignments of contraband cigarettes across the state border.

In all cases, early information on the offense was provided by operatives of the State Border Guard Service.

In particular, on the border with Hungary, border guards of the Horonhlab BG section together with operatives of the Mukachevo BG detachment prevented smugglers from moving more than 20 boxes of cigarettes to EU countries. 50 meters from the border, border guards found a hiding place with 8 packs of cigarettes and a board to overcome the trail control zone. Subsequently, the border guards found 4 more packages of tobacco. Cigarettes, namely 12,000 packs, will be handed over to the SFS.

Almost 15 boxes of cigarettes were detained on the border with Belarus. The cigarettes that smugglers tried to carry into Ukraine were found by border guards of the Lutsk BG detachment. The squad of the Svitiaz BG division found a group of people moving from the state border with packages in the forest strip. The unknown people noticed the police and fled, leaving packages of Belarusian cigarettes. The contraband will also be handed over to the competent authorities. The search for persons involved in illegal activities continues.

In addition, border guards from the Seliatyn BG division, together with Romanian colleagues, prevented the illegal transportation of another batch of cigarettes across the state border, namely 7 packages of contraband cigarettes. The illegal deal of the packers was thwarted thanks to the early information of the State Border Guard Service operatives and the coordinated joint actions of the Ukrainian and Romanian border guards.
