During the weekend, servicemen of the Chop Detachment detained 14 persons who tried to cross the state border illegally.

Thirteen of them were detained while trying to cross the so-called «green» border. In particular, five citizens of Ukraine were stopped last night by servicemen of the section «Kamyanytsia» on the halfway to Slovakia. They received the information that suspicious persons were going by electric train in the direction of the state border. One of them was detained on the outskirts of the village of Zarichevo, the other four - near the village of Myrcha.

The other six «travelers» were detained on the section of the Ukrainian-Slovakian border. All of them are citizens of Ukraine, men of call-up age. Two of them were detained according to the information received beforehand from local residents. The plans of another offender were prevented due to the proactive information from an operative officer.

Servicemen of the section «Salovka» detained two foreigners on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border who also intended to get to the EU countries by passing BCPs. A resident of the village of Batievo in Uzhhorod district reported to law enforcement officers about a man and a child of Arab appearance near the state border. The detainees, a father and his 12-year-old son, are citizens of Syria. Currently, they were taken to a special facility, there is an investigation into the case.

All offenders will be brought to administrative responsibility for the attempt to cross illegally the state border of Ukraine.

Another offender tried to outwit the border patrol at the BCP and to leave the country without proper permission. A thirty-year-old resident of Lviv was going to Slovakia through the BCP «Malyi Bereznyi». He asserted that he was going for humanitarian purposes and was registered in the «Shliakh» system. When the man was caught in a deception, he tried to resolve the problem in an «alternative way», offering a bribe to borderguards. Borderguards refused the offer and called the police at the scene of the incident. Now, the offender will have to bear responsibility for what he did.
