At the shipbuilding facilities of OSEA, French shipbuilders have 10 hulls of boats for Ukrainian border guards.

In France, a group of officers of the State Border Guard Service is in charge of supporting the construction of boats and accepting its stages.

It will be recalled that the first hull of the FPB 98 MKI boat for the Marine Guard was received by Ukrainian border guards at the end of this winter.

Five boats are currently being equipped with systems, devices and mechanisms.

The first boat FPB 98 MKI is expected to be launched by the end of this year. And at the beginning of next year, servicemen of the Marine Guard of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine will go to the shipbuilding enterprise OSEA to learn how to operate and service new boats in general and their individual mechanisms, systems and devices.

Currently formed crews and maintenance groups of boats FPB 98 MKI are trained on the basis of departmental educational institutions of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

It will be recalled that under the terms of the framework intergovernmental agreement signed in November 2019 by the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and France, 20 the most modern FPB 98 MKI patrol boats will be built for the State Border Guard Service.

At the same time, a quarter of the order will be fulfilled by a domestic shipbuilding company using French technology.

The FPB 98 MKI is a maneuverable patrol boat over 30 meters long made of lightweight aluminum, which develops speeds of up to 30 knots with a range of 1,200 nautical miles with low draft for sailing in shallow water.

Each boat will be equipped with modern optoelectronic surveillance systems, RIB-boats for reconnaissance groups of border guards, modern weapons.

The boats will be used to guard the state border on the water, to patrol and control the surface situation, and may be involved in search and rescue operations and countering sabotage and reconnaissance operations.
