Lviv border guard detachment

5 border guard divisions conduct their duties on protecting and guarding the state border: «Ambukiv», «Pavlovychi», «Rava-Ruska», «Lviv - airport», border guard unit (type C). Lviv border detachment performs border security on Ukrainian-Polish border with total length 219 kilometers and 500 meters according to the agreement “About legal regime on Ukrainian-Polish border, cooperation and mutual support in border matters” (adopted in 1993). Lutsk border guard detachment conduct its duties on protecting and guarding of the state border at the right side, Mostysk border guard detachment – on the left side. Lviv border guard detachment border sector is located within Volodymyr-Volynskyi and Ivanychiv district of Volyn region, as well as within Sokalskyi, Zhovkva and partially Yavoriv district of Lviv region.
There are 7 border crossing points within the sector of responsibility, 7 of which are currently operating:
- 4 automobiles (“Ustiluh – Zosin”, “Rava-Ruska – Hrebenne”, “Hrushiv – Budomiez”, “Uhryniv – Dolhobyczuw”);
- 1 air (“Lviv – airport”);
- 2 railways (“Volodymyr-Volynskiy – Hrebeszuw”, “Rava-Ruska – Verhrata”), train Intersiti.
protection of the State border of Ukraine on land, rivers, lakes and other reservoirs in order to prevent the illegal change its line, ensuring of maintenance of the regime of state border and border regime;
conducting of border control and crossing state border of Ukraine by persons, vehicles, cargoes and other property, as well as identification and prevention of cases of illegal movement;
conducting the operational and investigation activities in the interests to provide the security of the state border of Ukraine according to the Law of Ukraine;
coordination of activity of state bodies that carry out of different types of control on the state border or participate in providing border regime or regime of the state border and regime at the border crossing point;
participation in combating against the organized crime and counteraction to illegal migrants in border area;
coordination of the activity of military units and relevant law enforcement agencies, related to defense of state border of Ukraine.
