Ukraine and Moldova signed protocols on joint control implementing

The signing ceremony took place at Palanka – Maiaky – Udobne border crossing point.

It was preceded by a videoconference between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin Rechan.

The Protocol was signed by the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Serhii Deineko and the Acting Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Serhii Zviahintsev. The protocol was signed by Diana Salkutsan, Deputy Head of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, and Ihor Talmazan, Director of the Customs Service under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova.

The signing of the protocols will allow for the conducting of joint control at «Mamalyha – Kriva», «Kelmentsi –Larha», «Rososhany – Brichen», «Reni – Dzhiurdzhiulesht», «Kuchurhan – Pervomaisk», «Palanka – Maiaky – Udobne» border crossing points on the Ukrainian-Moldovan section of the state border. The signing of the protocol also provided legal grounds for the implementation of joint control at  «Platonove – Hoianul Nou» border crossing point.

It should be emphasised that the border crossing points operating on Transnistrian segment of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border can be reopened only when security conditions allow it, and only under a separate decision of the Ukrainian government.
