Two trucks fully loaded with timber were detained near the state border

Recently, according to information received from operational personnel of Zhytomyr Detachment, two trucks loaded with timber were stopped by border guards nearby Vystopovychi.

Recently, according to information received from operational personnel of Zhytomyr Detachment, two trucks loaded with timber were stopped by border guards nearby Vystopovychi. Two citizens of Ukraine were transporting the wood, with a total volume of 40 m3, by ZIL and URAL trucks.

While checking the documents and clarifying the circumstances of the timber logging and transporting, the border guards found that the technical passports of the vehicles did not correspond to the established model and that the numbers of truck components were missing. None of the transported logs were properly marked. one driver had no supporting documents for the timber, the other provided the papers that did not correspond to the declared cargo.

The border guards summoned the National Police Investigation Team in  Zhytomyr region to the scene, and subsequently sent a message to the NP about the detection of signs of a criminal offense under Art. 246 of the Criminal Code "Illegal felling or illegal transportation, storage, sale of wood", Art. 358 of the Criminal Code "Falsification of documents, seals, stamps and letterheads, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps" and Art. 290 of the Criminal Code "Destruction, forgery or replacement of  the numbers of vehicle components".

Trucks and timber were confiscated. Verification activities are ongoing.
