The President of Ukraine presented the "Golden Star" orders to the Hero of Ukraine and to relatives of military personnel who were awarded this highest rank posthumously.

Chief Sergeant Artem Popov, who took part in the battles for Kreminna and Zhytlivka of the Luhansk Region since 2022, was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine in the ranks of the State Border Guard Service. In January 2023, in the Bakhmut area, Artem Popov, as part of a combined unit, took part in the assault of previously lost positions. The border guards managed to push back the enemy and inflict significant losses on him, but Artem Popov died in this battle. His wife received the order from the Head of State.

Also, the Head of State handed over certificates for obtaining apartments to continue the implementation of the initiative to provide housing for Hero-defenders.

"We have established a new tradition in our country - to make Ukraine's gratitude to its Heroes quite concrete and manifest. Each Hero of Ukraine will receive an apartment from the state. Without any bureaucracy. And this is the least that the state can do now, so that everyone feels that Ukrainian gratitude will not remain just in words. Families of soldiers and sailors. Families of sergeants and foremen. Families of officers. Ukraine is grateful to you," said the President.
