Implementing the information received in advance, the operative employees of the 9th border detachment prevented the unmanaged use of land in the border areas, within the borders of Sarna district (Rivne region).

Together with the employees of the National Police, five metal tanks equipped as pyrolysis furnaces for burning charcoal, about 7 cubic meters of wood and almost 100 bags of final products were revealed.

The law enforcement officers established that the persons, who set up a place for the production of coal, did not have permits for this type of activity. In addition, offenders used illegally harvested wood as raw material for coal.

An investigative team from the National Police was called to the scene to find out the circumstances of the offense and document it accordingly. A notification was also sent about the detection of criminal offense signs. Verification measures are ongoing.
