Recently, border guards from the Chop detachment detained two foreigners who were attempting to enter Slovakia outside of designated border crossing points.

A border patrol, working in cooperation with officers from the detachment's operational-search unit and the migration police of the Regional Department of the National Police, spotted the suspicious foreigners on the outskirts of the town of Malyi Bereh.

The men were stopped about a kilometer from the state border. They had Syrian passports and documents stating that they had sought protection in Ukraine. During the verification process, law enforcement officers determined that one of the detainees was attempting to illegally cross the border for the second time. He had been detained for the same offense two weeks earlier.

The individuals were taken to the temporary detention center of the Chop Border Guard Detachment. Their actions are considered to be violations of the law, and the decision on their case will be made by the court.
