The other day, border guards of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi BG detachment together with the officers of the National Police detained five foreigners involved in a number of crimes on the territory of Ukraine.

The other day, border guards of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi BG detachment together with the officers of the National Police detained five foreigners involved in a number of crimes on the territory of Ukraine.

Having committed another criminal offence, a group of criminals intended to leave the territory of Ukraine illegally. However, in the course of implementing operational information, law enforcement officers detained a passenger car with foreigners near the village of Udobnoe, in Odessa oblast.

The offenders turned out to be the citizens of Moldova. Previously, they had already been convicted of crimes related to theft, mostly of cash from ATMs.

During the car searches, law enforcement officers found things that indicate the involvement of these individuals in a number of crimes in our country. In particular, the “assortment” of evidence included jewelry packages, cell phones, a tablet computer, batteries for cell phones, rubber gloves, bank cheques and a grey-green substance.

It is known that in the last criminal voyage the criminals robbed ATMs in Odessa, Cherkassy, Rivne, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr and Poltava oblasts. The total amount of stolen things exceeds three million hryvna.

On this fact, criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 5 of Article 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to twelve years with confiscation of property.
