Branded clothing and footwear that were attempted to be smuggled into Ukraine through Ustyluh BCP were recently revealed by border guards and customs officials.

As part of the counteraction to the illegal movement of goods as charity, the inspection group sent a Mercedes minibus returning from abroad with a humanitarian cargo for thorough inspection. As a result of a thorough inspection, the inspectors, together with border guard officers, detected smuggled goods in the luggage compartment. Instead of humanitarian aid, the boxes contained sportswear and footwear of a well-known Italian brand. The shipping documents did not contain any information about new jackets, T-shirts, pants, shorts, sneakers, etc., totaling more than 2,000 items. There were also boxes of humanitarian aid in the bus, though not many of them. The detected goods were confiscated by representatives of the State Customs Service in accordance with the procedure established by law. The value of the confiscated goods is currently being determined.
