Border guards release red-book fish from trap in Kherson region

The State Border Guard Service personnel is actively monitoring the coastal line within the border controlled areas, in particular to prevent poaching activities.

On April 12, while patrolling the Tendra Spit shoreline, as part of the “White Shadow” special regime activities, border guards of Kherson detachment discovered a 100-meter-long net containing four Red-book sturgeon fish.

According to the Art. 63 of the Law of Ukraine "On Fauna" border guards released revealed fish into the natural environment, which prevented the damage to the state by 200 thousand UAH. Prohibited fishing gear was handed over to the SFS.
