Border guards, together with customs officers at the Krakovets checkpoint, halted an attempt to transport an "Antonius Stradivarius" violin across the Ukrainian-Polish border.
A 28-year-old Lviv native was traveling to Poland in a Ford car. Upon entering the checkpoint area, the woman chose the "green corridor" and declared that she was transporting personal belongings. Based on risk analysis and assessment, the car was directed for additional inspection. Later, in the luggage compartment, an inspection team discovered a violin "Antonius Stradivarius" manufactured in 1713, which could have cultural and historical value.
The "discovery" was seized and handed over for examination.
